Nitrogen Generation Units for Underbalanced Drilling

NGU Capabilities

Alberta Mobile Air's units are modular in design and each unit has a capacity of 22.5m3/min 800scfm) at 95% nitrogen purity. Depending on your nitrogen requirements, we can send from one to four units that meet your nitrification needs. The skid-mounted units are 2.4m x 5.5m x 2.4m (8'x18'x8') in size. Each unit has inlet and outlet metering that can easily be tied into a data gathering system.

NGU Operation: How it Works

Operation of the NGU is simple. First, coalescing filters remove the particulate and oil that are in compressed air. The air is then conveyed to the hollow membrane fibers, which separate the nitrogen from the other gases. As the compressed air is fed into the separators that contain the fibers; the oxygen, water, and carbon dioxide permeate through the walls of the fiber, and then are collected and vented to the atmosphere. The nitrogen stream then exits the other end of the separator.

NGU Applications

Our NGUs are ideally suited for unbalanced drilling. For more about unbalanced drilling click here... [More...]
