Baked New York Style Sausage Dinner (Serves 4-6)

 

New York Style Sausage - Baked Sausage Dinner

 

Ingredients:

8 links of any New York Style Sausage
1 large onion sliced
3 garlic cloves chopped
4 tablespoon olive oil
4 medium potatoes, cut in quarters
6 carrots, cut in half or quarters if large.
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1/4 cup water and 1/4 cup white wine

 

Procedure:

Brown sausage in frying pan on top of stove. Place sausage in large casserole dish (reserve drippings). Arrange potatoes and carrots between sausages. Saut6 onions, garlic and parsley in reserved drippings and pour over sausage and vegetables evenly. Add water and wine mixture. Cover and bake in oven at 3500 for approximately 1 hour, basting occasionally. Remove cover last 15 minutes to allow potatoes to brown.

 

 

Roasted Chicken with New York Style Sausage Stuffing

 

New York Style Sausage - Roasted Chicken

 

Ingredients:

1 chicken approximately 3 lbs.
Rice 1/4 cup each of white, brown, and wild
1 small onion, chopped
1 fresh garlic clove, crushed
1/2 lb. fresh small mushrooms, sliced
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper
1 lb. New York Style Sausage (Mild, Hot, Turkey Italian or Garlic Basil)
1 egg, beaten.

 

Procedure:

Wash, clean and drain chicken, set aside. Prepare rice according to directions, set aside when done. Remove sausage from casing and sauté in large frying pan until brown. Remove sausage from pan with slotted spoon and set aside. Saut6 chopped onion, garlic and mushrooms in remaining drippings until soft. Add walnuts and saut6 for 2 minutes. Add vegetables and nuts to sausage. Mix together and add rice mixture. Season with salt and pepper and add beaten egg. Mix thoroughly and stuff chicken. Rub exterior of chicken with olive oil and place in 3500 oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until chicken is done.

 

 

New York Style Italian Sausage Bread

 

New York Style Sausage -Italian Sausage Bread

 

Ingredients:

1 lb. New York Style Italian Sausage
(1) 10 oz. box frozen spinach (drained well)
4 oz. shredded Sharp cheddar cheese
4 oz. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 egg, beaten
(2) 1 lb. loaves Bridgeford (frozen) dough
1 egg white (for wash)

 

Procedure:

Remove bread dough from freezer and thaw completely. Brown sausage in frying pan. Drain and set aside until cool. Combine all ingredients in large bowl, add beaten egg and mix thoroughly. Roll dough on floured board into a rectangular shape approximately 1/2” thick. Spread mixture evenly over the dough to within 1/2” from the edges and jelly roll tightly. Remember to tuck in the ends. Beat egg white with 1 tablespoon water and coat dough. (This will ensure a nice brown color.) Bake at 3250 for approximately 45 minutes. Cool on wire rack. This is a great hors d’oeuvre or a light lunch or dinner when served with salad.
